What did Trump say about Fauci?

Trump crossed the line with Fauci today. He said on a campaign call today that people are tired of hearing about the deadly pandemic. The same pandemic that has killed over a quarter of a million Americans. He also called Dr. Anthony Fauci a "disaster" that has been around for "500 years."

I should have known that Trump was capable of being this immature when he posted a photoshopped photo of Biden at a care home titled Biden for Resident.

However, this still surprised me. It physically hurts me to see him making these awful claims about coronavirus when it has claimed so many lives. He has had it himself and still won't give up the idea that it isn't dangerous. At a rally on Sunday, he even attempted to attack Biden by saying his opponent would "listen to the scientists" if elected president.

Ok...AND??? Isn't that literally a good thing? They are scientists for a reason.

Trump said this on the campaign call: "Fauci is a disaster. If I listened to him, we'd have 500,000 deaths. People are tired of Covid. I have the biggest rallies I've ever had, and we have Covid. People are saying whatever. Just leave us alone. They're tired of it. People are tired of hearing Fauci and all these idiots. Fauci is a nice guy. He's been here for 500 years."

Wow.

Even his advisers are questioning Trump's decision to question Fauci. A Trump adviser described the President's comments as "not smart' because they still keep the focus on the pandemic, which his election officials wish to avoid. (Hint, hint: it's because he is hemorrhaging votes due to his handling of the pandemic.)

While Trump was acting like a child, Fauci was being awarded the National Academy of Medicine's first-ever Presidential Citation for Exemplary Leadership. I think we all know who really won today.

This physically pains me to read and write. We are 15 DAYS from Election Day. I am a HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR. I CAN'T EVEN VOTE, but I'm still here attempting to write something that perhaps an adult that can vote will read. I'm still waking up each day asking myself how I can help Biden win. How we can get that record voter turnout.

I'm a teenager. I shouldn't be terrified of a presidential election I technically have no say in. But my rights are at stake here too. My peers' rights are at stake.

Even if nobody reads these, I can rest better at night knowing that I've done something to get my opinion out there. It's a bad alternative to voting, but it's an alternative nonetheless.

To anyone who actually reads these and listens, I love you. Have a great Monday and have a great rest of your week.

To Trump, please go to anger management training. It seemed to help Andy.
