Something to Make You Smile!

I know that things are crazy currently. I know that today the United States set an all time high for new coronavirus cases. I know that the election is in 11 days. I know that things are stressful.
So here is something that hopefully will make you feel better.
I volunteer for the DNC's 2020 Victory Campaign, a national volunteer campaign working to get Joe Biden elected. I started out texting, and now I moderate. This means that I help other texters with difficult conversations or frustrating voters. We have people moderating and texting from all over.
All over the United States, you mean?
Nope! We have international moderators too!
When I first told my mom this, she was confused. She didn't understand why people who were very happily living in other countries even cared about what happened to the United States; why they would want to spend their time volunteering about an election that wasn't their own. I think that it just goes to show the beautiful nature of true human kindness.
So I told her the story of Ulf. Ulf is a text moderator from Sweden, and his chats in our moderator Zooms always make my day and put a smile on my face.
Here are two of my favorite Ulf moments:
1) The one time where he offered his cabin up to any of the moderators if they happened to be visiting Sweden.
2) The other time where he said the election was also important to Sweden as a whole, and if all of Sweden could vote, it would be 95% Biden. He told us he'd be on our team every day until the election, and will do his part to make sure Biden gets in the White House.
Keep in mind the time difference between here and Sweden. We hold our mod calls at 1 am for him. Last night he stayed up past 4 am to do a virtual debate watch party for us.
Ulf inspires me to be a better person. His compassion and love for our entire moderator team just completely blows me away. He doesn't have to be here, but he has shown up every day for us.
In a world where you can be anything, be an Ulf.
