Conundrum

I have a question.
I am confused as to how
Some people
Change their opinions
Like the weather
Changes in Rapid City, South Dakota*.
You shout and shout
For your first amendment right
To stay outside
In the middle of a
Pandemic.
You say that these shelter in place orders
Infringe on your sense of
Liberty.
You become mad.
You protest.
Freedom over fear.
Jesus is my vaccine.
George Floyd was brutally murdered.
America is in
Uproar, and rightfully so.
Protests erupt.
The majority of protesters
Wear a mask.
They understand the gravity of the situation
You ignored.
Black Lives Matter.
No justice, no peace
Prosecute the police.
People are paying attention now.
Trump becomes angry.
He tear gasses peaceful protesters
For a photo op
With a Bible.
Almost ironic.
Christ's rhetoric of love
For all of his children
Seems lost in Trump's White House.
He calls in the National Guard.
A group mysteriously absent
In earlier shelter in place protests.
Tear gas is thrown
A weapon mysteriously absent
In earlier shelter in place protests.
He calls for curfews placed throughout the country,
And authorizes the police force and the National Guard
To use whatever necessary force.
A demand mysteriously absent
In earlier shelter in place protests.
You,
The same you as the man who held up the
Freedom Trumps the Virus sign.
Now tweet from the safety of your home.
"A curfew in place...means in the house."
"They said get in the house. Fkn listen."
Do you not see the hypocrisy of your words?
You yourself said that you were protesting for
Freedom.
The very same thing that these protests are hoping to accomplish:
Freedom for all.
You said you were exercising your first amendment right.
Is this a right you believe they don't have?
You say that the protests are too violent,
But ignored the men with assault rifles
Stationing themselves outside of the Michigan State Building,
Fighting for their haircuts.
You condemn these protesters for staying outside
When you did the very same thing
A month before.
Why is it that now you've changed your mind?
I think that I know the answer,
But I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

*Rapid City, South Dakota is the city with the most unpredictable weather.
Yes, black lives matter, but tell me this. Why do they they only matter when a white man takes it.
