What Can Vaccinated People Do?

Federal health officials said today that fully vaccinated people can socialize indoors in small groups without any preventative measures if it takes place at least 2 weeks after completing their COVID-19 vaccination regimen. This means no masks and no social distancing is needed.
People who have gotten any type of vaccine are all included in this; Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson are all okay. However, it is important to note that a full vaccination for Pfizer and Moderna is two doses, while Johnson & Johnson is only one.
Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the CDC, also said during a White House briefing that vaccinated households can be indoors with one other unvaccinated household without preventative measures (as long as no one is at high risk for severe disease). In addition, vaccinated people do not need to quarantine after being exposed to someone with COVID-19 as long as they don't have symptoms.
However, the CDC's new guidance does not address travel. (So don't travel.)
It is also important to remember that there is still a small risk that vaccinated people could become infected with milder or asymptomatic disease and potentially even transmit the virus to others who are not vaccinated.
Well, this information is very interesting to me. When I saw this headline this morning, I thought it was a joke because it seemed so unreal to me. A year later, and things may be going a little bit back to normal.
However, make sure to gauge what you do by what you feel comfortable with. If you aren't comfortable with gathering together indoors without masks even if you're vaccinated, then don't. Just do whatever feels safest to you.
