US to Slow Down Testing?

Donald Trump made a shocking admission during his rally in Tulsa last night that he had told officials to slow down testing in order to combat the rising numbers in the United States. He said this: "You know testing is a double-edged sword. Here's the bad part...when you do testing to that extent, you're going to find more people; you're going to find more cases. So I said to my people, slow the testing down please." Obviously, now his administration officials are trying to cover that up and have told CNN that the President was "obviously kidding" and White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said the remark "was tongue in cheek" and "a light moment for him at a rally." Those who oppose him have been quick to accuse the President of slowing "testing for his political benefit" (said by Symone Sanders, one of Joe Biden's senior advisors).
Trump also decided for some reason to throw more racist terms and stories out there. At another point during Trump's rally, he referred to the coronavirus as the Kung Flu. He also told a fictional story that seemed centered in the 1950s about a woman calling for help during a break-in of her home. This story was told in order to warn "the radical left" against calls to defund the police. "It's one o'clock in the morning, and a very tough hombre is breaking in to the window of a young woman, whose husband is away, as a traveling salesman or whatever he may do. And you call 911, and they say, 'I'm sorry this number is no longer working.'" He also said that the taking down of the Confederate statues by the protesters were attempts to "demolish our heritage" and replace it with their "oppressive regime."
I watched the majority of Trump's speech, and it was so full of hate that it shocked me. A lot of it just confused me, as I think it also confused him. The thing that frustrates me the most is that he calls the taking down of Confederate statues a way for protesters to replace it with their "oppressive regime." What oppressive regime is he talking about? One where white people are not always at the top? Because I guarantee that that is the only regime that he feels is oppressive. The Confederate statues are a symbol of America's oppressive regime that the protesters are trying to get rid of. So, the protesters are actually getting rid of an oppressive regime and replacing it with what they want, which is equality for all. If Trump feels this is oppressive, he needs to own up to the fact that he is not simply "outspoken", but racist. Also huge shout out to all the great Tiktokers that reserved tickets to Trump's rally and didn't show, as it severely overestimated the amount of people he thought would be coming. This bruised his ego a little bit, but oh well!
In other happier news, today is Father's Day! Huge shoutout to my dad and all the other wonderful dads out there that have changed their children's lives with their dad jokes and fun facts, not to mention financial and emotional support. If you can't see your dad today due to the distance or just because of this virus, give him a call and tell him how much he means to you. He will treasure it!
