Trump's Rally in NH for Saturday Canceled, Spends Time in COVID-19 Hotspot on Friday Instead

The President first stopped in Miami-Dade County, Florida to discuss drug trafficking prevention efforts. This would be seen as a routine campaign stop if not for the increasing rise in coronavirus cases in this specific county and state.

The President participated in a roundtable discussion with dissidents of communism and socialism in Latin America. He started to warn that the radical left are letting socialism and communism creep into the United States, saying this: "Now Joe Biden and the radical left are trying to impose this same system, socialism plus in America. Biden is a puppet of Bernie Sanders, (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez), the militant left, the people who want to rip down statues and monuments to George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin. They want to rip down statues to Jesus."

As a member of the group he has dubbed the radical left, I do not know of any Jesus statues that have been ripped down. Jesus was not a Confederate soldier, nor did he own any slaves. It is not relevant to bring him into this conversation.

But I digress.

This roundtable took place at a church, and no one really knows whether or not the audience members were socially distanced. Trump will round off his trip to Florida by participating in a closed-door fundraiser to secure support from wealthy donors. (He is expecting to raise $10 million).

On Saturday, Trump was supposed to hold a rally in New Hampshire (with no mandated mask wearing or social distancing). This rally has been canceled not due to coronavirus concerns, but due to Tropical Storm Fay. Interestingly enough, the forecast for Saturday called for "partly to mostly cloudy skies and a prospective stray shower or thunderstorm."

Using the weather app on my phone, I am able to see that as of right now, Portsmouth has a 40% chance of rain until 10 am, where there is no chance of rain for the rest of the day. By 1 pm, the temperature should be 79 degrees and slightly sunny for the rest of the afternoon.

I find it interesting that in the face of a deadly virus, Trump continues rally life on as normal, while the possibility of some rain is enough to deter him. He does not want his supporters to risk getting wet and cold, but risks their lives by not mandating masks during this time of a pandemic. In addition, he goes to the new hotspot of coronavirus in order to campaign like nothing is wrong and talks of drug trafficking instead of the virus that is ravaging their area. He simply does not take this virus seriously, and the American people are going to pay for it. His economy cannot reopen without him taking this seriously. By not taking precautions such as wearing masks in public, he is sabotaging his own plan to reopen America. Cool. Cool cool cool.
