Trump's Axios Interview

I woke up and the news was buzzing about a recent interview President Donald Trump did with Jonathan Swan, an Axios National Political Correspondent, which was aired on HBO last night. Swan is now being called an American hero despite being Australian for his hard-hitting questions and his calling out of Trump's answers when they didn't quite make any sense. His face that I chose for the cover photo says it all.

Trump appeared unable to read a graph correctly during the interview, as well as insist that the death rate was getting better. When Swan said that the death rate was in fact rising and over 1000 people were still dying every day, Trump said "They are dying, that's true. And it is what it is." What a great attitude when your citizens are dying!

He also seemed rather confused and went on a tangent when talking about John Lewis, stating that he has done more for Black people than anyone else with the possible exception of Abraham Lincoln. When Swan even brought up Lyndon B. Johnson and his passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, Trump remained adamant about his initial thoughts.

While this shows that the President is really not fit to deal with the handling of this pandemic, this interview will give you a laugh. I have chosen to laugh about his ineptitude with graphs instead of worrying about how this man got to be our President. Anyways, have a great Tuesday and maybe check out one of these links below!
