Trump Has Returned to the White House

President Donald Trump returned to the White House this evening after being treated for COVID-19 for the past three days at Walter Reed Medical Center.

He tweeted this this afternoon: "I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M. Feeling really good! Don't be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!"

Well, that's a relief. I just won't be worried anymore.

He also immediately took off his mask to pose for pictures.

At the White House, he posed in front of a bunch of flags, where he took off his mask. When greeted by mask-wearing staffers, he still didn't put the mask on. Yes, he is still believed to be contagious.

He is expected to stay only in his residence while being treated, and will not be spending any time in the West Wing. He is still being treated with remdesivir, an experimental antiviral drug. His physician, Dr. Sean Conley, says that "though he may not be entirely out of the woods yet, the team and I agree that all our evaluations, and most importantly, his clinical status, support the president's safe return home." Dr. Conley refused to tell anyone when or if the president had last tested negative for the virus.

CDC guidelines state that a person should quarantine for at least 10 days after symptoms first appear. For those who are very ill, they may need to quarantine for up to 20 days. It has been 5 days since Trump began feeling ill.

So, it could just be me, but I feel like this whole situation is very concerning. First of all, COVID-19 is something to be afraid of. Over a quarter of a million Americans have died from it; we should be cautious and slightly fearful. In addition, taking off your mask in front of other masked staffers is just disrespectful and rude. Trump is still thought to be contagious, and he is putting those people in danger by being next to them without any precautions. We also still haven't heard that he's tested negative since his initial positive test. That points to perhaps there not being a negative test. Maybe. I could be wrong.
