Totally Under Control

After stumbling upstairs today in order to eat a bowl of cereal, I was drawn towards a news story on our TV. My parents often have on MSNBC in the morning, so I always like to stop by and see which story is being reported on. Some stories are interesting, sometimes they're surprising, sometimes they're a bit bland.

But this story, this story was really interesting.

Over the past five months, a documentary about the White House's handling of the coronavirus was filmed. In secret. The trailer came out on October 2nd, coincidentally after Trump announced he had tested positive for COVID-19. It's almost more horrific when you know that the documentary's bad news is already out of date.

Perfect for October Spooky Time, the trailer looks like something out of a horror movie. Basically Contagion 2. Basically a zombie apocalypse but everything is real.

In other words, completely terrifying.

But also, informative.

The directors have sat down with numerous aides and scientists who are choosing to speak up about how Trump's administration have handled this coronavirus. The title of the documentary, "Totally Under Control", is a direct reference to how Trump said we were doing with mitigating the spread.

In reality, it was not in fact "totally under control", and this documentary shows the smaller, out of control, hidden things that were not earlier made available for the public. (Something that is illustrated with the cover photo of this blog post, which is the cover photo used for the documentary.) Fortunately for us, we will soon know these hidden things because the documentary comes out on demand on Neon on October 13th. Two days.
