They Haven't Learned Their Lesson

This likely doesn't surprise anybody, but the White House continues to be neglectful with COVID-19 mitigation. Last night, I received word of the coronavirus spreading among Mike Pence's staffers. His chief of staff, someone he is often in close contact with, tested positive, alongside two others. Despite this, he is not taking a break from the campaign trail.
Makes sense.
White House chief of staff told CNN's Jake Tapper today that it was not possible to control the virus because: "it is a contagious virus just like the flu." He also said "We are not going to control the pandemic. We are going to control the fact that we get vaccines, therapeutics and other mitigation areas."
Wow. So now we are openly admitting to not attempting to control the virus. Cool.
My favorite thing about this is how Republican senators basically tried to distance themselves as much as possible from that remark. When asked whether they should stop trying to get the virus under control, South Dakota Sen. Mike Rounds said, "Definitely not."
My personal favorite remark was made by Indiana Sen. Mike Braun, who said "No, I think we do everything and throw the kitchen sink at getting the virus under control." I agree, let's throw the kitchen sink at this thing. The virus won't fix itself.
In other bad news, Judge Amy Coney Barrett will be confirmed Monday night. The good news is that I won't have power Monday night due to yet another red flag warning, so I'm unable to watch Ruth Bader Ginsburg's legacy be slowly unraveled by a knock-off Dolores Umbridge. RBG would be sickened.
Vote.
