The Gift That Keeps on Giving

COVID-19's symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath, to name a few. The average recovery time for most mild cases that do not involve hospitalization is usually two weeks. If one does not have a fever for three days, are off medication, and have improved respiratory symptoms, they are considered to be free of the virus. Unfortunately, negative tests are not as accurate.
Some of those stricken with COVID-19 have tested negative for the disease after their two-week period, but the symptoms still persist. One woman with the last name of Porter has had a steady fever for 50 days, but has not been hospitalized. In the morning, she reports that she feels better, but the fever and the fatigue come back midday.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 patients that are not sick enough to be hospitalized are essentially left at home by themselves to recover. There is not much guidance as to how they should do that. Fortunately, doctors are attempting to check in frequently by phone call to see if the patients' symptoms have worsened.
In summary, COVID-19 is like an annoying ex-boyfriend that won't leave you alone. He leaves you fatigued and frustrated because he is toxic for you, but he will not accept that. But in all seriousness, this new news is rather disheartening and my heart goes out to all of those that are trying to get through their actual quarantine at home and those who are facing prolonged symptoms. This, like everything else, cannot last forever. Chad will eventually stop dm'ing you.
