The End of an Era

Today is the last day of school for the high school I attend, Montgomery. Our wonderful admin and teachers have set up a drive-by graduation for each of our seniors to be celebrated. Seniors get dressed in their cap and gown, get in their car, and then drive down to Montgomery during their allotted last name time period. Teachers and admin are in masks and wave to the grads, and have decorated the whole route. Not all high schools are even conducting a ceremony, so I'm glad that Monty's seniors were part of the lucky group that did receive some sort of recognition today.

I'm sorry to all seniors; I'm sorry it had to end this way. Whether it was your high school or your college experience, it was cut short. You have made a great sacrifice for our country and for the world by staying home and respecting the fact that many of your graduations were canceled, so thank you. You will go down in history as the class that put the needs of the country in front of their own.

To the class of Corona '20, I hope all of you succeed in whatever you choose to do and that you stay happy while doing it. Happy Graduation, and in the infamous words of Michael Scott, "May your hats fly as high as your dreams."
