Super Bowl Celebrations

As I'm sure many of you know, the Super Bowl was this past Sunday, February 7th. Public health experts were warning many people to stay inside and only with immediate family, in order to mitigate the virus spread. However, just like Americans usually do, we partied it out and threw caution to the wind.
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor had signed a largely voluntary executive order requiring people to wear face coverings during super bowl festivities, even while outdoors. She even noted that the city could issue fines of up to $500 if the order was not complied with.
So did this actually happen?
Unfortunately, no.
Crowds of fans who weren't wearing masks or practicing social distancing were seen celebrating the Bucs' win. Folks crammed into small bars, hugging and talking in hotspots throughout the city. Few, if any, masks were seen.
In addition, it still isn't clear how many citations the city handed out to these non-compliers, but I think I understand why. It becomes almost impossible to hand out enough citations to cover these giant groups of people.
Castor has also said that the city and Buccaneers are planning an official celebration to be held later this week, but that everybody will be able to participate safely. Let's hope that she's right.
Lastly, can we talk about the halftime show and what is up with all of those backup dancers with the creepy plastic surgery masks? I understand a little bit of pizzazz, but I was a little bit scared. Also, did the Weeknd get lost in the mirror maze? Like, I've been there, I get it, but it's kinda funny that he did too.
