More Good News!

Bob and Doug have safely landed in Pensacola, Florida following their NASA-SpaceX mission. This marks history as this is the first time that SpaceX has done a recovery mission on people instead of just materials.

Bob and Doug began their descent from the International Space Station to Earth about 18 hours ago after a two month stint in space, and as I type this, they are about to open the shuttle door and let them out. However, before they can do that, NASA recovery teams have to make sure that there are no poisonous fumes around the Crew Dragon capsule.

Parachutes came out of the capsule in order to slow its descent towards the ocean. The shuttle then touched down safely in the Gulf of Mexico, and the astronauts conveyed a message for the flight doctors waiting for them:"let them know we're feeling good" about an hour ago. After splashdown, two small boats surrounded the capsule. One boat is checking for poisonous fumes and the other is working to drag the parachutes out of the water.

I have just heard that no poisonous fumes were found and I expect that Bob and Doug will be exiting the capsule shortly.

Bob and Doug are childhood friends and were in each others weddings, and their families are very excited to watch them come home. This is good news that these families are now able to reunite!

Have a good week!
