Important PSA

I'm sure that by now you have heard about the disinfectant injections that doctors should look into administering. Trump spoke out about different cures for the virus that include injecting disinfectant and UV rays into our bloodstream "through the skin or some other way" (which was concerning to hear). The FDA then had to publicly state that that was not a viable cure, and that the American people should under no circumstance do that. After Trump saw this backlash, he said that his comments were merely sarcastic.

The gross mismanagement of this virus by our administration is not only frustrating, but also dangerous. Trump's authority as President of the United States holds power and influences people's responses to this deadly virus, and injecting Purell into the bloodstream will kill people faster than COVID-19 ever will. As a teen, I know that we are not as likely to die as older people, but the handling of this virus is important for the health of older relatives that we hold dear and for the reinstatement of our teen years (because I for one do not want to spend the rest of my teen years in my room). I cannot stress enough how important it is that the people of America only get one story: the safe story. Making "sarcastic" jokes in a time like this is not only not funny, but also extremely deadly. A live press briefing that all of America can hear is not the time to brainstorm ideas for a cure or throw around witty comments. The American people deserve news that will keep them safe, and not confuse them. (Below is a GIF of what the audience at Trump's press briefing probably looked like when he brought up injections.)
