I'm Sorry

Life has been really tough recently.
As in, I've had little to no motivation to do anything.
It's not just me, either.
All of the seniors I know are having the exact same problem, but no one is doing anything about it.
The whole reason why I created this blog was to get teens' voices out. But my voice feels more stifled than ever. I realized a while ago that I was just typing to myself, as no one reads these posts.
But I'm tired.
This is not how it was supposed to end. I had a plan. I love planning things.
That plan didn't turn out.
Seniors, we've basically lost all of our senior year. And for those of us who have actually been staying good about COVID-19 guidelines, we've also lost the ability to be with the majority of people who made school so exciting in the first place.
It's the little things that I used to take for granted. A hug from a friend, a smile from across the hallway, walking with someone to class.
I really am at a loss. School keeps piling on because "we should be used to it by now." Remember last year around graduation where there was that TV special where Timothee Chalamet came on and Barack Obama spoke? Where is our TV special? Where is our sympathy and pity? WHERE IS BARACK OBAMA?
While I mostly joke, I do believe it is really important for our teachers to listen more carefully to what their students are saying. We're all tired; please adjust accordingly.
And lastly, please prioritize your mental health above everything. That was a really hard thing for me to grasp at first, but it's important to remember.
Please know that teachers miss you too!
