Not great.
New COVID-19 cases are rising in 47 states and 27 states recorded 1000 or more in the last 24 hours. The death toll rose to 228,000 today and more than 81,000 new cases were recorded, pushing the seven-day tally to record highs.
The seven-day average has risen for 26 STRAIGHT DAYS and exceeded 74,000 for the FIRST time on Wednesday. Let me remind you that we are now at 81,000, so it's just getting worse.
There are 45,045 Americans hospitalized currently, which is the highest number since August 14th, and up about 50% from a month ago.
I know that those are a lot of numbers, and they're kind of confusing, so I'll condense it here.
We are doing the worst that we have ever done. Ever. This pandemic is far from over, and we are nearing an awful winter.
Trump is ignoring all of these statistics and continues telling the American people in his rallies that we are in fact rounding the corner. I mean, he's not wrong.
He's told us that we're rounding the corner so many times that we are now actually right back where we started.
But, in all seriousness, that's not safe to say and just another piece of misinformation from Trump's White House.
On the bright side, I heard some news from an interview Fauci did with the Rolling Stone where he said that a vaccine would be ready to use by December and would be rolled out beginning in 2021 throughout the year. So that's good news - now I have a shot at actually going to college and not just doing it in my room!
Gotta hold on to the scraps of good news because they don't come often.
Have a great Thursday and keep staying safe! Oh, and vote!! (If you vote, you get the cool sticker so keep that in mind!)
