Don't Worry, It'll Start Getting Cooler Soon

Anyone who lives in California knows how devastating and stressful fire season can be. So I have some good news for you from our president: Don't worry about it. Global warming isn't a thing. The weather will soon start "getting cooler."
Yes, Trump actually stated this. Yes, this is wildly incorrect and very concerning. Yes, the White House has put a global warming skeptic in a leadership role at the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, which is responsible for the majority of climate research from the government. Yes, that is clear bias.
Trump's visit to California marks a time period in which more than 3 million acres of land have burned and ravaged other Western states. He kept talking about his theory that a failure to rake our forest floors was responsible for our fires, and that we also apparently have "explosive trees" that could've been handled by raking. The real facts here are that scientific evidence has found that while forest management is important (I will cede that), longer dry seasons and warmer weather (caused by global warming) are the real reason why forest fires are worsening.
Now, as I'm sure many of us know by now, Trump has no time for any kind of science. California's Gov. Gavin Newsom even acknowledged (and I'm sure was aiming for some sort of compromise) that there needed to be brush clearance. However, he did ask the President to "respect" the scientific consensus that "climate change is real." Trump was then unwilling to give up any part of his point and simply said "It'll start getting cooler. You just watch." When another local official told Trump "I wish science agreed with you," Trump said this: "I don't think science knows, actually."
Ok, so there's a lot to unpack here.
According to President Trump, the most accurate means we have of figuring anything out (aka science) doesn't actually know anything. I refuse to accept that and therefore I'm pretty sure that Trump confused science with himself.
I have seen firsthand how these fires can tear apart communities because it tore apart mine. I have seen firsthand how these fires can tear down everything in a day that a family worked so hard to build because it has torn down friends' houses. My community has lost everything, and we do this thing every year. It is simply disrespectful to all of the families affected by this to ignore this very serious problem. Climate change is real, whether or not Trump believes in it. We deserve a president who wishes to end this annual pain and devastation.
For the love of everything that is good and right in this world, vote for Joe Biden. Vote like your lives depend on it, because they do.
And lastly, who told Trump that he was the chosen one? Pack it up Harry Potter.
Daniel Radcliffe would never stand for this kind of blasphemy.
