Create Your Own Adventure

My prom was supposed to be held tomorrow, and it is frustrating to me that juniors and seniors across the nation are having this high school memory ripped from us. So...I raise to you all the idea of having your own prom. By this I do not mean that you should invite all your friends and have a large party. Please do not do that.

My idea is to dress up on the day that your prom was supposed to be held (if you never got a prom dress, you can wear whatever you want, the dress was just a suggestion), and turn up any speaker or music device you have and dance. If you do not have an area to dance outside, then dance in your room. Dance with your parents. Dance with your siblings. Eat a lot of snacks. If you have those cool LED lights, set them to change with the beat. FaceTime your best friends or even your date that you would be spending prom with!

In all of this insanity, it is best to take a break from staring at the computer (and I am guilty of that) and simply try to recreate something special just for yourself. This way, you can also curate a playlist for prom off of your favorite songs so you do not have to waste your time groaning at the DJ's choices. In this time of uncertainty, take some time for yourself. You will feel a million times better because of it. (Putting on a fancy dress or a tux will make anyone feel like a new person.)
