California Governor Gavin Newsom announced on Thursday that California is now under a stay-at-home order for counties in the most restrictive reopening tier (aka purple) due to climbing COVID-19 cases. The order will go into effect at 10 p.m. on Saturday and last for a month. It applies to the 41 counties in the purple tier. (This includes our county, Sonoma County.)
This order will stop non-essential work and gatherings in those gatherings between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.. During this time window, people can still do some things; they can go to the grocery store or drug store, walk their pets, and get takeout from a restaurant.
In other news, Thanksgiving Break is officially starting tonight! Here are some fun ways to celebrate your break while also staying COVID-19 safe:
1) Have a movie day! (Extra brownie points if you make it themed.)
2) Play some board games. (But only the interesting ones like Twister or Cards Against Humanity.)
3) Have a dance party! (Make it Christmas themed if you are ready for the holiday season.)
4) Socially distance with some of your friends and celebrate your lack of school work.
5) Bake fun things.
Those are just some out of the many ideas you can execute during this next week. I hope everyone has a fantabulous break! (And as I also wish to have a break, I will be taking a break from this blog for the next week - I will see you all then!)
