A Year Ago, Today

The W.H.O. declared the coronavirus pandemic a year ago.

Think back to that time, maybe check out some pictures from your memories. Did you think that it would all be over to two weeks? Maybe a month?

A year has gone by. A year of sheltering-in-place. A year of not being able to see loved ones. A year that has broken up relationships and friendships. A year of loneliness. A year of great loss.

But, this has also been a year of great hope. A year of new friendships and new relationships. A year to put things into perspective. A year to reflect. A year of awareness. A year that has shocked us so greatly that we have been jolted into fixing problems that otherwise unfortunately would not be on our radar.

There has been highlights. There has definitely been some lowlights. Throughout it all, we've stayed strong. I'm proud of us for that.

Today marks a year. However, we aren't where we were last year.

Today marks another heartening day of vaccinations and successful reopenings. Today marks another day of tumbling infection rates. We have come so far in a year.

Let's keep moving ahead.
