Almost a year since the epidemic spiraled out of control in the United States, Americans are still stuck in a horrid nightmare and now face the symbolic statistic of half a million people dead.
President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden plan to mark the 500,000th American death from COVID-19 with a candlelighting ceremony at the White House tonight that will also include Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff.
This sad news also comes with a warning from Dr. Anthony Fauci issued on CNN Sunday that Americans could be wearing masks into 2022. However, on the bright side, this warning came amid news that more vaccines than ever are being sent to states.
Tonight, let's honor those who have died from the virus, and actively work to stop the spread in our communities. We must keep fighting for those who now cannot.
